Williamsburg

After an entire summer of being here, we finally made it out to visit Williamsburg. Dan wasn't too thrilled about driving all the way out there just to walk around on his one day off from walking around all day, but he sucked it up and did it anyways. Thanks Dude!

Here's Kaitlyn making here debut...I'm not sure where she got that pose from, but apparently that's her idea of how you are supposed to pose for a picture.

Family shot at the church

The Capital building, or as Kaitlyn insists Snow White's castle. She also spotted Cinderella on the street (one of workers wearing her 18th century duds)

We told Kaitlyn this was the Naughty Spot. She doesn't like this naughty spot and does NOT want to go there. Maybe I should get one for my house ;)

Oh how they make me smile :)

I just love the little quirky things about them, and watching them play together

A very happy unbirthday...to me!

Not that today anything spectacular or happy happened, it's just that today I finally got the pictures from my birthday (thanks Stacie). This year for my birthday the wives had a surprise party for me, and I was really really surprised! I really had no idea, so when I walked into my apartment and there were a bunch of balloons and girls there I was a bit flabbergasted. Thanks girls, it was fun! It's a little sad that half of you are gone, but I think we're all glad to (almost) be done with the summer :)

Some of the VA Beach wives

And these were the beautiful (and delicious) arrangements Lisa, Dan, and my mom gave me. Except for the chocolate covered strawberries which didn't make it past breakfast the next morning I was able to enjoy them and feel loved for 2 whole weeks which was quite miraculous because I can usually kill flowers within a day

FREEDOM!!!

Tonight Makenzie finally took a bottle!!! For the past 7 months Makenzie has liked eating from me and only me, not me in a bottle and especially not formula. Stubborness definately runs in our family. Don't get me wrong I love nursing (free, no bottles to clean up, and good for baby) but I've hated the uneasy feeling I would get whenever I would leave Makenzie. But after tonight I finally feel much better about leaving her for extended periods of times. good thing because next month I'll be leaving her for a week

I love sleeping kids

now if only they would sleep at the same time.

Makenzie is growing up way too fast, although I can tell she wishes she would grow up even faster. She is already trying to pull herself up - she makes it up on to her knees and can stand her feet with her bum up and head down, but is too wobbly to stand up all the way - and she gets really frustrated when she can't reach the top of something to pull herself up onto. Makenzie loves to follow Kaitlyn around and cracks up at just about everything she does. And she LOVES playing in the water. Unless she's tired or hungry she is just such an easy going and happy girl

Kaitlyn oh Kaitlyn, when did you grow up? I just love hearing her random thoughts and seeing her personality blossoming. As a nursery leader once told me, "she really is a firecracker" (compliment or criticism?) Kaitlyn loves Dora and Diego, going to the pool, and her current favorite movie is Ella Enchanted. She loves to look out for Makenzie and makes sure she always has plenty of toys. She is always so quick to say "I'm so sorry Mommy, I won't do that ever again" whenever she does something she shouldn't. And she loves to sing and dance her little heart out.

Music to My Ears...

...and probably to my ears only since she can carry a tune about as well as her dad. But this is one of my favorite parts of being a mom. I just love hearing Kaitlyn tell her dolls stories and sing herself to sleep.

to listen click here since for some reason I was unable to upload it directly

*ps I videoed it in the dark and since I don't have night vision on my camera there's nothing to see, only something to hear
