Rollin, Rollin, Rollin
Today Makenzie started rolling over from her back to her tummy! Seriously, what happened to my newborn???? She is growing up way too fast. I tried to catch it on video but she wouldn't cooperate. So this will just have to do.
Klutz???
I LOVE warm weather! It's so nice to be able to go outside and get some fresh air, let Kaitlyn run around at the parks and wear herself out. However, I found out the other day that an excited Kaitlyn, shorts, and walking equals a lot of owwies. No kidding she fell 4 times in one day. Add that with the fact that she is the most dramatic person I know -which says a lot because if you know any of my female relatives you know that I know some pretty big DRAMA QUEENS -and the fun is over. The picture doesn't do it justice, she kept falling, landing on the same spots, and reopening her scabs. Is the only solution pants?
Virginia Beach
Yesterday morning Dan and I took the girls to the beach. We had a lot of fun despite it being foggy and the water being too cold to swim in. Much to my surprise Kaitlyn was not afraid of the sand, she just wasn't too excited about it getting all over the place, and it tickled her feet. A huge improvement from last year
There were a lot of seagulls around and Kaitlyn was chasing one trying to give it some food (sand from her bucket) After the one she was chasing flew out to the water, Dan went to console her.
I guess they 'clean' the beaches by shoving all the debris back into the ocean...seems pretty pointless to me since it will all just wash right back up again.
What's a beach trip without someone getting burried?

Kaitlyn couldn't leave the beach without testing out the water...it was pretty cold but she was pretty fearless and ran straight in.
Makenzie's hang out. She slept most of the time, and just smiled and talked to us once she woke up. She really loves being outside.
We're really happy to be so close to a beach again. Although the beaches here don't even compare the the beaches in Hawaii. We're looking forward to the weather warming up a little bit more so we can more fully enjoy our beach trips.

Too much Enchanted????
Kaitlyn's newest favorite movie is Enchanted. I wasn't sure she would like it since it's not all cartoon, but I guess all she needs is a story about a princess with a prince and a mean witch and she's hooked. I'm pretty sure she has watched it EVERYDAY since I bought it...a nice break from the usual Dora. So today we went out to lunch to Dairy Queen and she looks at me and says "This is a special place...We're eating dinner...This is a DATE!" I just had to laugh and give her a hug!
Well we've been in Virginia for a week now, and we're starting to settle in about as much as we usually do over the summers. The weather has been really nice especially since the day we left Utah it was snowing and Kaitlyn has been enjoying being able to go play at the park again, and Makenzie and I are just enjoying getting some fresh air. Another funny thing Kaitlyn has been doing when we go to the park is that she insists that I play too, while she sits and watches Makenzie so someone doesn't take her. Kaitlyn is so sweet and thoughtful sometimes, I just need to be sure to remember that when she's driving me nuts.
Enough about Kaitlyn, Makenzie is growing up so fast. Her latest fascinations are blowing bubbles, smiling at herself in the mirror, and just being so dang cute. See...

And here's Kaitlyn posing for me at the park...BTW what's the deal with Virginians? Does no one go to the park? Every time we've gone we've been the only ones in sight. Or are we just going to the wrong parks?

3 Months...Neighbors...Monkey Dance
Although there were some definate cons to being the first people to move into our neighborhood, it's been really fun because we've been able to meet and get to know all of our neighbors as they moved in. And I'd have to say we've got some of the best neighbors. Yesterday we the girls of the neighborhood got together for a brunch as a last hoorah before Christi and I leave for the summer...Thanks Saedi for putting it all together and the pictures I stole from your blog! It was a lot of fun to just sit and chat for a few hours, and there was a lot of yummy food! And lastly, the monkey dance...So when Kaitlyn does something naughty I will usually sit her down and talk to her about how it makes me sad when she does that. Then she will usually respond by saying something like "I give you hug/kiss that make you happy?" Well a few days ago she really shocked me when she started saying "I do silly monkey dance make you laugh?" I tried so hard not to laugh, and to keep my focus but seriously how do you stay mad at that at least the first time, now it's just getting old
