It's a Girl!!!
Today Dan, Kaitlyn and I went to go get the ultrasound. She was a little shy about exposing herself at first but after much nudging we finally saw what we wanted, and it looks like baby #2 is gonna be a girl! Kaitlyn is so excited to be a big sister and is ready to play with the baby now, but she's going to have to wait until sometime around Jan 10th.

Last trip to MOA
Today was mine and Kaitlyn's last trip to the Mall of America before we go back to UT :( We always have so much fun whenever we go, we sure will miss it. We made our usual rounds on Kaitlyn's favorite rides, but today the bus was broken so instead we went on the carousel twice (she got to choose between the carousel and the train). She really has come a long way from the beginning of the summer...no crying at all and I even got an occasional smile!
Here's Kaitlyn mid "choo choo". And yes Wendy was with Kaitlyn ALL day long!
A face I didn't get yesterday....the "evil glare"...
Being cute on the horse with the pink flowers and the baby!
Then when we got home she fell off the couch (I don't know how she was just sitting there watching Barbie)and instead of just getting up herself she was whining for me to come move her. But I thought she looked pretty funny so I had to take a pic before I helped her out.

Drama Queen, Dancing Queen
Kaitlyn has turned into quite the drama queen...sometimes she'll just walk around pretending that she's sad, tired, or happy. And now she will also make faces corresponding to the emotions if you ask her to....which I find to be pretty funny.
Happy/Pretty Smile...

Excited...

Surprised...

Sad...

Sleepy (accompanied with pretend snoring)...

Kaitlyn also LOVES to dance...she's learned most of her moves from watching all of the Barbie movies. I just love to watch her dance along with Barbie, it makes me excited to get her in dance classes. It's so fun to have a little girl!

SYTYCD & Eclipse

Two things that I am sad about being over...So You Think You Can Dance and Eclipse.
I love watching SYTYCD over the summer times probably for multiple reasons...1.to relive my days that I used to be able to move my body somewhat gracefully (though not quite as good as those folks) 2. There are no other good shows on to watch while I wait for my husband to get home 3. well I guess there's only 2 reasons. I'm glad that a girl FINALLY won (its about time) and I'm glad it was Sabra, its just amazes me that she's only been dancing for 4 years!
I absolutely LOVED reading all three books, Twighlight, New Moon, and Eclipse and I am so sad that I have to wait another year for the next one. I have found myself going onto Stephenie Meyers website reading all of the extras and outtakes just to fill the void (and my crush on Edward)
I've always thought that Danny was an amazing dancer but he always bugged me until this week. This week when I watched him do the Viennese Waltz with Lacey I discovered that he moves exactly how I pictured Edward Cullen would move (which realization probably came from my latest obssession with those books)

Meet Henry Cavill...Stephanie Meyer's "perfect Edward". So now just watch and just imagine its Edward dancing with Bella (but Bella isn't graceful so imagine its you) and enjoy!

Twins Game
During the summer time dates are few and far between for Dan and I, but last weekend we finally got to get out together and leave Kaitlyn at home...thanks Owen for babysitting. We went to a Twins vs Indians game, I have to admit that I'm not the biggest baseball fan to begin with and the game was for the most part pretty uneventful (one double play, one hit that bounced over the wall for a double, one run scored, and lots of stike outs) but it was still pretty fun to just get out without the responsiblities of having a toddler around.

And just because she's the cutest part of our family, here's Kaitlyn in one of her new favorite hiding places

The "Beach"
Yesterday Kaitlyn and I went with our friends Mindy and London to the "beach"...which was actually a little sandy area on the St. Croix River. I was debating whether or not I was gonna go because I had just started reading Twilight (which if you haven't read it yet, you MUST) but I decided it would be good to get out of the house and have some fun with our friends and socialize.
And this is the "beach". Nothing compared to the beaches in Hawaii...no breeze, gross sand, brown water....but at least it was outside so we can work on our tans - which is more than we can say for the pool at our apartments. It also had a Salt River kind of vibe with all of the people just hanging out playing music from their boats. But all together it was a fun outing!
And since I mentioned that I was reading Twilight this is what happened today. While I was just sitting on couch completly absorbed in the book Kaitlyn was happily passing the time away playing with her toys. After a couple hours she came up to me and said she wanted to eat lunch, I told her as soon as I finished the chapter (page and a half) we could. She immediately went to grab her blankets and a binkie and just layed down and fell asleep under the table within about a minute....Guess she wasn't that hungry after all, and I got to finish the book!

Another fun day...

Going to the park and the pool every day kinda gets old, so we made another trip to the Mall Of America! This time it was just me and Kaitlyn so I could make a quick stop into Forever21 and then focus the rest of the time on more Kaitlyn friendly activities. However Kaitlyn did seem to enjoy herself shopping for clothes - she has eyes for most eveything pink and tells me how pretty the clothes are.

After shopping for clothes we headed down the the theme park and Kaitlyn got to ride all of her favorite rides, and even her not so favorite...the carousel. I was so happy because this time she finally rode the carousel without any screaming, I just had to keep pointing out the pink flowers

on the horse she was riding and after about a minute she finally admitted that it was fun! The "Choo choo" is always a big hit, but this time the bus ride is what Kaitlyn keeps talking about

All around the park there are those photo booths I tried my best to keep Kaitlyn out of them but after I explained to her that they were for taking pictures she got so excited and ran into one and looked so cute I figured "why not" .
