Random

We haven't really been up to much lately, but my mom keeps bugging me for a new post and some pictures of Kaitlyn and Owen. So here's some random pictures - Love ya Mom!

I know I always talk about how Kaitlyn is such a neat freak, however that does not mean that she doesn't occasionally enjoy making a mess. This happened one day when I was enjoying some peace and quiet (and not being climbed all over)time on the computer. Kaitlyn really thought that the applesauce made a great hat.

I don't think much explanation is needed here....just that I think Oreos can make just about anyone happy! And I love the chocolate goatee she gets whenever she eats chocolate.

Piggy back rides with dad - which always end up in her room so she can jump on the mattress on the floor.

Siiting in the corner playing with her toys, while mom reads Harry Potter.

And last but not least, almost every day Kaitlyn wants to paint her nails. So today we finally did (we usually do it about once a week)

And this is for you mom.....Owen's photo shoot!

(I'll try to get Aaron over for a photo shoot too for all you Liddles out there)

Yumm-o!

OK so these are seriously (at least in my opinion) the best tuna melts ever! When I made them the other day Dan was really impressed, which doesn't happen very often. And now I can never go back to the plain ol' kind. They're really easy to make...just a little bit of chopping and you too will be hooked.

Click here for for the recipe....Thanks Rachael Ray!

Kaitlyn's Day!

Today we had such a fun day! I decided I need to be a better mom and do more fun things with Kaitlyn, so today I let her decide what we were going to do.

At 10:30 in the morning she decided that we needed to go get ice cream. I kindly told her that was a great idea but we needed to wait until after nap time. So immediately she starting running to her room so she could take a nap. Then I had to tell her that we had to eat lunch before we could take a nap, so she ran into the kitchen chanting "eat, eat, eat". Somehow I managed to hold her off until 11am for lunch then she darted into her room to take a nap. ok so I'm not sounding so nice right now, but come on isn't 10:30 a little early for ice cream? As soon as she woke up she was so excited and ready to run out the door to go get ice cream. So we were off to Dairy Queen and the whole way she was chanting "ice cream, ice cream"!

I think she had the time of her life eating her ice cream cone. My favorite part was that inbetween each bite she would grab her napkin and wipe her mouth...she seriously is the biggest neat freak. So by the time the ice cream cone was all gone there was no mess for me to clean up on her or the table.

After Dairy Queen I asked Kaitlyn what she wanted to do next. Naturally she wanted to go to her favorite place...the park! I took her to a park that's a little bit farther away from our house (not the one in our parking lot that we usually go to) because this park has a smaller jungle gym that is perfect for her to play on.

After going down the slide a million times and swinging on the bars above the slides, my usually very cautious daughter must have built up some courage....

Kaitlyn ran over to the bigger jungle gym and scared me silly by climbing up this ladder-ish thing. It made me really nervous but she was actually really good at climbing it (and yes I did make sure I was standing there right underneath her just incase) And she went down this slide, which is actually the steepest slide I have ever seen. And we repeated this process yet another kajillion times! ok maybe a little exaggeration there

And the last thing Kaitlyn wanted to do today was to go home get some Apple juice and watch Barbie! A perfect end to a perfect day! Kaitlyn was entertained and happy all day, and I had time to make dinner, vacuum and sit and cuddle with my little cutie before the movie was over! Oh how I love being a mom!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had such a fun 4th of July! Kaitlyn and I hung out at home while Dan went out and worked the first half of the day. We passed the time by sitting out on our balcony blowing bubbles and eating goldfish. Kaitlyn has started to do the akward 2 yr old smile - which I think is pretty cute (probably because I'm her mom)and I was lucky enough to catch a piture of it.

In the evening we had a bbq at Carver Lake Park. As soon as Kaitlyn saw the slides and swings that was all she wanted to do. It was so fun for Kaitlyn to play with her Daddy at the park....she also enjoyed the skateboard rides she got with her uncles Owen and Aaron.

After the bbq we went and watched the fireworks at the St. Croix River. We went with our friends Rich and Shelly, and Kaitlyn just LOVES Shelly - she would rather be held by Shelly than by her mom or dad. Although we had been talking about the fireworks all day with Kaitlyn and before they started she was really excited to see them, once they started she didn't really like them....that is until we left and then of course she wanted more.
