Virginia Beach

Yesterday morning Dan and I took the girls to the beach. We had a lot of fun despite it being foggy and the water being too cold to swim in. Much to my surprise Kaitlyn was not afraid of the sand, she just wasn't too excited about it getting all over the place, and it tickled her feet. A huge improvement from last year

There were a lot of seagulls around and Kaitlyn was chasing one trying to give it some food (sand from her bucket) After the one she was chasing flew out to the water, Dan went to console her.

I guess they 'clean' the beaches by shoving all the debris back into the ocean...seems pretty pointless to me since it will all just wash right back up again.

What's a beach trip without someone getting burried?

Kaitlyn couldn't leave the beach without testing out the water...it was pretty cold but she was pretty fearless and ran straight in.

Makenzie's hang out. She slept most of the time, and just smiled and talked to us once she woke up. She really loves being outside.

We're really happy to be so close to a beach again. Although the beaches here don't even compare the the beaches in Hawaii. We're looking forward to the weather warming up a little bit more so we can more fully enjoy our beach trips.

Totally jealous of your hubby time and the fact that you got to go to the beach...the closest beach to us is like 4 or 5 hours away!!
